Urban Grind Radio is a veteran-owned, 11-year syndicated program currently broadcasting eight times each week across six partner stations. We are seeking one weekly, one-hour slot for our clean, professionally produced, broadcast-ready show.
Our regular episodes feature clean hip-hop mixes and featured interviews, entertainment coverage, and original segments, including:
• Music Is My Business — music-industry conversations and insight
• Behind the Grind — stories from artists, entrepreneurs, and industry professionals
• Mind Over Men — honest conversations about men’s mental health, healing, leadership, and personal growth
Urban Grind Radio is hosted by Wally Lockard III, J.D., Mr. Music, TV & Sports, alongside co-hosts Sinista and DJ Mama.
Music is mixed by Chicago-born and North Carolina-based DJ Savvy, a veteran radio DJ and host who has been DJing since 1984. He currently broadcasts Saturdays from 7 PM to midnight and Sundays from noon to 2 PM on WIKS 101.9 KISS FM in Eastern North Carolina. His Urban Grind Radio mixes air across all six of our partner stations, bringing authentic DJ culture and a polished, national-quality sound to every broadcast.
The program is produced by Urban Grind TV, the Midwest’s longest-running hip-hop television show. Urban Grind TV has broadcast continuously for 17 years, produced more than 800 one-hour episodes, and earned 30 awards. It airs throughout the Chicago area on Comcast and Astound Channel 25 and streams through Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and Apple TV.
Urban Grind TV has featured major artists including Snoop Dogg, J. Cole, Common, Chance the Rapper, Lil Durk, Nelly, Ludacris, Rick Ross, Scarface, Mobb Deep, Rakim, Raekwon, Redman, Twista, and Lupe Fiasco.
Our platform delivers more than a radio show. Featured Urban Grind Radio interviews are filmed in Chicago and broadcast on Urban Grind TV, creating radio, television, digital, and social-media cross-promotion for our guests and syndicated station partners. We would also promote WBHH – We Blazin Hip Hop through our television and digital platforms.
Coming this NBA season, select episodes will feature the audio edition of Legends in Session with four-time NBA champion Horace Grant. Season One is currently in post-production and features Phil Jackson, Toni Kukoč, Charles Oakley, Robert Horry, Bill Cartwright, Stacey King, Vernon Maxwell, Harvey Grant, Kendall Gill, World Series MVP José Rijo, and other legendary guests.
